We have an excellent opportunity for a Web Developer to join our team in Fremont, CA. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the Company’s global and multi-language Website, E-Commerce platform and Product Information System (PIM) and their servers. The duties include working closely with the global Marketing team to design or update the website, optimization, fixing website errors/bugs in a timely manner and creating a response plan for down servers and running tests to make sure designs or updates function properly. In addition, the Webmaster multi-tasks and coordinates a wide range of improvement projects and has experience with software programs such as Webflow, Catsy, Shopify, Illustrator, InDesign or comparable, Project Management tools, and with HTML programming.
Responsibilities:
The Web Developer's primary responsibility includes enhancing user experience by creating user-friendly, visually appealing, and secure sites. You will work closely with business stakeholders, the IT teams, and external developers, and to ensure that the architecture aligns with the organization's needs and goals.
Website Maintenance: Regularly updating and maintaining the website to ensure it functions correctly, remains secure, and delivers a positive user experience.
Project Management: Lead / drive the (web-related) improvement projects (incl. planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, reporting)
Content Management: Adding, editing, and removing website content, including text, images, videos, and other multimedia elements.
Web Design: Implementing and managing the website's design, layout, and user interface to ensure it is visually appealing and user-friendly.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Optimizing web pages and content to improve search engine rankings and increase organic traffic to the website together with Digital Marketing experts.
Website Performance: Regularly monitor and optimize website performance, including page load times and server responsiveness.
Security Management: Implement security measures to protect the website from cyber threats, such as malware, hacking attempts, and data breaches.
User Support: Addressing user inquiries, feedback, and technical issues related to the website.
Website Testing: Conduct regular testing, including cross-browser and cross-device compatibility testing, to ensure the website works well on different platforms.
Domain and Hosting Management: Overseeing domain registration, renewal, and managing website hosting services.
Teamwork: Crosstrain and support marketing team members
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualities:
Website development/administration and good understanding of digital marketing principles
Knowledge of best practices for web-based initiatives
Understanding of localization and translation processes and its implications for content development
Support multi-languages content and data, in particular English and German
Good eye for high-converting landing pages and experience working teams to develop them
CMS Expertise and Training: Proficiency in CMS administration (Webflow & Shopify preferred) and experience providing team training and support on CMS usage.
HTML and CSS
Project management tools (Wrike preferred)
Desired Skills: Caty, Google analytics 4, Google tag manager, Semrush, Lookerstudio, Wistia, Hotjar, Cookiebot, OptinMonster (Popup)
Collaboration and Technical Skills: Ability to work closely with global cross-functional teams, leveraging technical skills to drive outcomes.
Data-Driven and Analytical: Strong analytical abilities, with a focus on UX and conversion rate optimization (CRO), to ensure data-backed improvements.
Experience in project management, reporting and analysis
Self-motivation, effective communication skills and keeping deadlines
Desired: Fluent in English and German
Desired: Candidates living in the Bay Area of California that are willing to work in our Fremont, CA office at least 4 days a week
Preferred Education/Certifications
4+ years in corporate website content development, management, and maintenance.
2+ years participation in basic digital marketing (Example: SEO)
Basic wireframing and graphics capability
Minimum of two-year associate's degree
